Mental Health Strategy

Over the next few months the SIAA will be developing its response to the consultation on the strategy and we welcome your views and comments. Tell us what you think  should be included in Scotland’s Mental Health Strategy.

Public Appointments: “Your Country Needs You!”

The Scottish Government and Inclusion Scotland want to increase the number of disabled people working on a public body in Scotland and are holding the first in a series of seminars to inform disabled people about them. Edinburgh, 21 September.

Mental Health Strategy for Scotland: 2011-15 A Consultation

Proposals for a new national mental health strategy bringing together work to improve mental health services and mental health improvement. Proposals intend to build on the current approach and seek Stakeholder’s views on the direction of travel for the next 4 years to further improve mental health outcomes. Read more.

New measures to improve dementia care

300 dementia champions will be working across the NHS and local authorities by 2013, part of a range of measures helping to drive up standards of care for people with dementia throughout Scotland.


Independent review is launched into how personal mobility needs of people living in residential care are met

Its brief will include how disabled people's needs are met, how they are funded and what responsibilities care home providers and local authorities have in relation to the mobility needs of residents.  Closes 10 October
